Comments: One thing that strikes me
as certain is that survivors of SRA have almost no political power
to deal with this type of abuse... There are tens of thousands of
survivors of SRA/RA that are attempting to heal and overcome this
type of severe trauma. Many are highly intelligent and lead successful
lives. Perhaps they should organize themselves on a political level
in order to strengthen their position. While it may be difficult
to pursue criminal charges against these abusers, civil charges may
be an option. At a minimum, it may help to raise awareness and may
possibly interfere with ongoing/future abuse. Individuals should
attempt to pursue justice whenever possible. If survivors were to
organize themselves, they would be far more effective. In addition
to possibly bringing about a greater sense of justice, organized
groups of survivors would be able to aid one another in their healing.
If survivors and their advocated could work as a unified group (like
the abusers do) they would be far more effective...

the internet for possibe topics to talk about for my college essay,
the essay question was evaluate a significant experience in your
life that had an impact on you. And i chose to start with -the power
of words. It was when i started with this paragraph and started to
surf the web for more understanding of the power of words through
real life experiences. Your website clarified and proves that it
can impact someones life significantly. Your website has changed
my perspective towards the usage of words, i have a younger brother,
and im gonna say i have used some of the things that were said to
you, i knew in the back of my head that it wasnt good to do it, but
the situation at the time compells you to do it. I will say im definitely
going to becareful from now on. You touched my heart. Everyone abuses
words and its time to let people know that the effect of negative
words has long term effects. Thanks for sharing your story, its impacted
me for the best :) and PS you look good in your halloween costume,
by the way the fatherly love really shows through the pictures ...

that your site helps me understand my own mother, who was severely
(ritually?) abused while growing up. In her own words, she broke
the curse with us, my sister and I. We were never abused. She made
us mind, and corrected us with our dad, but we never had to endure
abuse like she and you mention. Thanks again for helping me to understand

site. Our abusers never wanted us to speak out. They wanted to crawl
and hide while we suffered in silence. Thats exactly why I made my
site. I also write poems. Healing from a pen! I just really wanted
to stop in and say thank you for sharing your story. Through awareness
we can make a differance! even though I am 41 years old the wounds
seem like yesterday on some days but I try to reach the stars everyday
in spite of my father. You and your wife make an adorable couple.
It takes alot of courage,love and compassion for the spouse of a
survivor to really stand strong and always be there through the pain
of today. I know this is true because my hubby tells me this everyday!!!!!!!LOL
Also by the way I think I have a halloween costume similar to yours
but I didnt shave my mustache and beard before going to work. Keep
up all the great work here!!!

Comments: Amazing life. I searched to
find info aboout children of sexual abuse to maybe see if their are
others like me, you have shown me it could have been worse. It is
amazing how children of abuse can become good adults. I look at my

I have taken a few Aboriginal courses at university now and live
in close proximity to a Native Reserve. I find the information very
disturbing...to think that these horendous incidents took place.
I believe that people are people from the inside out. Colour and
