you, through Wild Rose's Guestbook (my friend here in Fort
Walton Beach). Though when I saw your name I knew it probably was American Indian and I am part Cherokee as is
my husband. I on my father's side. Your story is very
hard to read as it is so heart wrenching and it is hard to
listen to what you had to endure. Though through it all you

Comments: I could really relate to the first few sections of your biography...
I can also remember trying to protect my mom and my siblings from the abuse, and just
being knocked aside... I am also a survivor of rape and molestation, though nothing
as horrendous as what you have suffered... After spending 3 hours reading through
your site, I almost feel like a whiner... I guess abuse in any form and to any extent
is still an awful thing, but I can't fathom how you managed to survive that...
I've been suicidal off and on since age 13, and since the abuse ended, I have hurt
myself just about as much, or more, than they hurt me... But anyways, reading your
story and all has made me realize something... I want to be like you... I want to
rebuild myself as you have done... I want to heal the old wounds that still plague
me and I want to live a more productive life... I guess I'll never forget the things
that have happened to me, but maybe that is kind of a good thing--I too refuse to
continue the cycle... But anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I really admire
you for having made the transition from victim to survivor...

would be honored delighted to have a link to my page on your site. I read your bio
and found it fascinating, yet touching and sad at the same time.
I too have suffered from abuse. I don't really like talking about it and don't
have it mentioned on my page because I am afraid that I might discrace my family.
In my poem
Too Late To Be
it shows how it has effected my life and my
discouragement for the future. My father had a nasty temper and would strike out
against us when we were young, especially my older brother. He use to do the three
stooges on us by banging our heads together or against the walls. I tried
confronting my mother about it over a year ago, but she laughed nervously and said
that it was suppose to be funny, ... a joke. I didn't even realize
it untill I was in a depression rehab in Mar of 1997 and it just clicked that Hey,
wait a minute,... I was abused! :( It hurt me that my mother just stood back and
didn't step in to help us. It sort of reminds me of the song Daddy by Korn, ex.
the sexual abuse.
This is why I am in support of religion, although I am not religious myself. My
father changed drastically when he converted to Christianity. I wish I could
say the same for myself, but it has ruined my life and still draggs me down. But,
I still have a hope and keep pressing on :) !!!
I haven't read all of your text yet, do to lack of time. But I can assure you
that I'll be back for more :) Thanks again for sharing your pains and joys with
us to share together and gain knowledge and wisdom through your personal
