Comments: Jesus H Christ how can parents do those things to their kids? I would rather give my own life than see one of my girls get hurt. Maybe having seen some of the damage abuse can do to a loved one makes me harder, but there should be no sympathy for abusers. A child should never ever be harmed in such ways.

Comments: I have read your so sad a painful story,from start to finish, and it has got to be one of the saddest, yet most inspirational stories I have read.
By the time I read
the ending(so far) I had gone through many moments of crying for you, for Peggy and Danny, having to regain my composure, and carry on reading.
There are not many stories that physically make me break down and cry, but this one did..until then I often thought,Why dont these stories affect me anymore? Why cant I cry anymore?
I guess I was having self doubt about my own feelings, but through you I know I havent lost the compassion and the need to reaach out to others, You have endured so much pain and heartache in your life,yet you are an Inspiration to the world, You have my complete admiration and thanks for reaching out and helping others in your own healing journey.

Comments: I am a fifty-two year old incest survivor. I advocate for children in the state of Colorado. My mother suffered raceism growing up and she claims to be white, but for some dumb reason, I too feel like an American Indian. I look like the fifty something, five feet tall and five feet around Indian Grandmother except I have lighter hair and eyes.
I have found recovery takes action. I fight for those who are too young or too battered to fight for themselves. I have found many children having trouble learnng at school are hypervigolant at home spending most of their energy out thinking the abusers in their lives. Transgenerational (a new word I learned today on your sight) incest and the physical and emotional abuse that goes with it must stop. I went to College to find out how to stop it in my family. Any abuse is like an island, I chipped at it until I couldn't see it any more. But the tide changed and realized it is a mountain. By helping others, I am chipping away at the part I can't see.

Comments: GW.....your story is inspiring but yet so painful. I am a support person for someone who has survived cult abuse. SRA. It is one long and extremely difficult journey but well worth the work.
Sometimes, when she is beginning to remember yet another scenario, it seems too overwhelming to even hear much less be the one who lived through it. My heart aches for any child who is being abused or has been abused.
Your site has enlightened me and gives me such hope that others survivors will come upon this site and know that someone out here can understand and does believe. Being believed is a big issue, as you know. I am here to say to you, I am a believer even if society chooses to shun or walk away from the reality of this. I won't walk away nor will I just sit still for this either.

Comments: I appreicate reading about your story. I was hoping that I would trigger something but there was no emotion at all other than how sad. I have been in therapy myself for a long time and am still hunting memories saddly mine seem to be lost. Also I did not like my emotional response a normal person would have been horified by what they read. My response needs more investigating. It is very sad to not feel anything for one's self. I did feel for you and empathize with you but I was looking for something to make me feel. I don't think I am making myself clear but maybe I am. I loved seeing your pic and I am glad that you have validation. I have none, no memories, no valadation, nothing. Just a since of day-za veiw.
