Dream I

...for April

I awaken, crying your name, and find your arms around me, your breast pressed to mine, your lips kissing away my tears... In the cool hours of the night, when earth is still and stars shimmer I reach out in my dreams, searching, seeking; my heart and soul crying to the silent skies--and my hands find yours, and I know peace... In the still hours of the dawn I awaken, and see your gentle form beside me, a smile upon your lips; soft, wondrous, content... Your arms reach out to me gently, pulling me close, holding me; and you whisper my name so softly, so softly, and lay your head upon my breast as I too hold you, close to my heart where you belong because I love you...
